The Mask (1994)
Released in 1994, The Mask was a huge box office success bringing in over $350 million dollars worldwide. Based on a comic book, the film was directed by Charles Russell and featured Jim Carrey in the role of "Stanley Ipkiss." Stanley finds a magical mask and once he puts it on it brings out his cartoonish alter-ego. Carrey was nominated for a Golden Globe award for his performance and The Mask was also nominated for a Special Effects Oscar the same year as well.
Dumb and Dumber (1994)
Also released in 1994, Dumb and Dumber featured Jim Carrey alongside actor Jeff Daniels in the roles of "Harry" and "Lloyd." The film would be the feature-film debut of the directing brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly--who gave us such films as There's Something About Mary, Kingpin, and another Jim Carrey film--Me, Myself & Irene. Steven Martin and Martin Short were approached about playing the role of "Harry" before Jeff Daniels signed on but declined to participate. Dumb and Dumber grossed over $247 million dollars worldwide.
The Cable Guy (1996)
Released in 1996, The Cable starred Jim Carrey alongside actor Matthew Brodrick. It was directed by actor Ben Stiller and produced by Judd Apatow. Jim Carrey plays a cable guy who takes a liking to a customer of his to the point of stalking him. Alongside considered a flop on its release, the film did gross over $102 million dollars worldwide. That's 6 times over its initial budget of $17 million. Flop? We don't think so.

Walking Dead" Darabont was Jim Carrey's first foray into dramatic acting. Lambasted by critics the film failed to recoup only half of it's initial $72 million dollar budget at the box office.

The film was directed by Ron Howard and produced by Brian Grazer. It earned three Academy Award nominations for Best Costume Design, Best Art Direction, and Best Makeup. Carrey was nominated for his role as The Grinch by The Golden Globes.
Me, Myself & Irene (2000)
Released in 2000, and directed by The Farrelly Brothers, Jim Carrey plays the creepy Rhode Island police trooper Charlie Baileygates. Carrey's character Charlie Baileygates suffers a mental breakdown which, in effect, produces his alter-ego, Hank, to take over. The film was made for $51 million dollars and grossed worldwide $149 million, making it, yet again, another box office success for Jim Carrey.

Released in 1998, Carrey plays Truman Burbank and average every-day kind of guy who goes about his business until one day a studio light falls from the sky above him almost hitting him in the head. From here, Truman sets out to discover the outside world and learns that he has and his life has been the subject of a television show that the world has been watching since he was just a little boy. The film was directed by Australian director Peter Weir. It was a box office success bringing in over $250 million dollars worldwide for 20th Century Fox.
Man on The Moon (1999)
Released in 1999, Milos Foreman's Man on the Moon is a biopic based on the life of comic Andy Kaufman. Kaufman was an avant-garde comedian who dabbled in wrestling and mysticism as well as starred in the role of "Latka" on the hit ABC television series of the late 70's Taxi. The role was a dream role for Jim Carrey and while he was nominated and won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Kaufman he was snubbed by the Academy Awards. The film was a box office failure grossing back only half of its initial budget.
