small size was smaller than expected

I ordered the Balboa and black/yellow Rocky shorts in small sizes and they were perfect, however, the Small size of this short was much smaller. I should have ordered a medium, but assumed all three would have been quite similar. Wish I had ordered a medium. Other than that good value and quality for what you get.
